Procedure to buy and use digital products on the BEST Chalo App

Products you can buy:

  1. Mobile Tickets – one-way ticket from source to destination

  2. Mobile Bus Passes - unlimited and special concession passes

  3. Super Saver Plans - ride based plans for maximum savings

How to buy a ticket/pass:

  • Open the BEST Chalo App

  • Go to buy bus tickets/pass

  • Choose your ticket, enter details, upload documents if necessary

  • Pay online with netbanking, UPI, credit or debit card or wallet

How to use your ticket/pass:

  • Open the app to find your booking under Your tickets/pass in the menu or pinned to the home screen

  • To use your ticket/ pass to travel in a bus, you need to start a trip on the purchased ticket/ pass. Tap on "Start a trip" . Get the conductor to scan it in the first 15 minutes.

X Do not press ‘Start a trip’ button until you’re ready to board the bus

  • Once you start a trip, one trip is deducted from the trip balance, if you are using a ride based product. After you start a trip, you need to get the mobile ticket/ pass validated at the conductor’s machine. On successful validation, a green tick mark appears on the conductor’s machine.

How to validate your ticket/pass:

  • After activation, validate your purchase by placing your phone next to the conductor’s ticketing machine

  • If you are wearing earphones, please disconnect them.

  • Your ticket will play an almost inaudible unique sound which pairs with the conductor’s machine to validate the ticket. On successful validation, the conductor’s machine will show a green sign.

  • You can access your ticket from My Bus Tickets/Passes and find the trip receipt in the history.

Paperless ticketing - How to find your trip receipt?

Step 1: Go to Your tickets/passes on the menu

Step 2: Under the list of expired tickets, tap the ticket you want. The reason you need to check expired tickets is that as soon as a ticket is validated by the conductor's machine, its state changes from 'Active' to 'Expired'.

Step 3: Tap 'View Trip History' on the expired ticket

Step 4: Your trip receipt is right there in case you need to show it to the TC

What to do in case of any issue:

In case the conductor is not able to validate the digital ticket and you have to buy another ticket, please send an email to ‍‍‍contact@chalo.com with your booking details and also a photo of a physical ticket. Your phone number will help the team reach out to you faster and get all the information they need to process a refund.
